The key to the operation is founder Sab Lord, who was raised in remote Kakadu before it became a national park. As such, Sab has a real connection with both the land and the indigenous people of this region: he and his team of expert guides are fortunate to be able to share their knowledge and respect for the local Aboriginal culture.

Travelling through Kakadu and Arnhem Land with your private guide, you have the opportunity to experience remarkable landscapes, traditional culture and amazing examples of 40,000-year-old rock art. Lords’ Safaris will also help you discover the amazing wildlife of the Top End including crocodiles, water buffalo, wallabies, brolgas, jabiru and magpie geese.

Depending on your preferred accommodation style, Lord’s Safaris can tailor your itinerary to include nights spent camping out in the wilderness, utilise hotel/lodge accommodation, or a combination of both.

Tour Highlights

Begin with a visit to Fogg Dam Reserve, a key habitat for water birds, then witness jumping crocodiles on the Adelaide River. Afterward, explore Kakadu National Park, stopping at Learning Tree Lagoon for photos and enjoying lunch at Bark Hut Inn. End the day with a scenic Yellow Water Cruise at Cooinda, spotting crocodiles and unique wildlife in the lush wetlands.

Head to Arnhem Land, accessible only with special permits, crossing the East Alligator River. At Gunbalanya, visit the Injalak Arts Centre to meet local artists and tour ancient rock art galleries on Injalak Hill, guided by Aboriginal locals. Enjoy lunch with views across the floodplains and escarpment.

Explore the southern Kakadu, with a refreshing swim at Maguk’s plunge pool. Continue to Bamurru Plains on the Mary River floodplains, a safari-style camp rich with diverse wildlife and habitats. Spend the evening enjoying wetland views and sunset.

Engage in airboat rides or a 4WD safari at Bamurru, encountering waterfowl, buffalo, crocs, and wallabies. Conclude with lunch before heading back to Darwin.
