Your Hosts

You will be hosted, guided, and driven throughout both Kinrara and the Daintree by esteemed hosts. At Kinara, you’ll be hosted by a third-generation resident of the area, founding creator of the property, and lava-walking aficionado, while in the Daintree, you’ll explore with a multi-award-winning local team boasting over 20 years of industry experience in the region. Specialising in off-the-beaten-track adventures and coming from a range of professional backgrounds, your hosts takes great pride in showing travellers some of the most wonderful parts of their respective regions and its unique beauty, history, and culture, while providing unrivalled customer service with their knowledge, experience, and attention to detail.

Outback Queensland

The rugged Atherton Tablelands provide unparalleled outdoor adventures. The activities of each day are personalised to each guest, determined at the beginning of each day over a rustic home-cooked breakfast. All adventures are guided for full comfort and immersion, so guests can engage in outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, 4WDing, nature walks, fishing, and swimming in crystal clear spring-fed streams, explore outback life on a guided homestead tour, and learn about working cattle station life. Kinrara’s fertile volcanic bushland makes it home to plentiful wildlife, aquatic life, and birdlife, making this destination perfect for those seeking nature immersion in a truly special environment.

Daintree Rainforest

The 180-million-year-old Daintree Rainforest dates back to Gondwana and offers a diversity of landscapes and experiences to match its history. Experience nature’s splendour on rainforest river cruises, admire the abundant and truly unique flora and fauna of the region, get a first-hand understanding of the ancient Kuku Yalanji culture of the region, and enjoy a visit to the largest collection of tropical ethno-botanical plants in the world to uncover the link between plants and people with a true conservationist and environmentalist ethos.

Kinrara Expeditions

Offering adventure and rustic, outdoor hospitality, Kinrara operates on a working cattle station sitting on 70,000 acres of remote land in Far North Queensland, 250km south-west of Cairns. Fed by volcanic spring water and teeming with diverse wildlife on the site of Australia’s second youngest volcano, Kinrara’s camp is designed with sustainability and authentic country hospitality in mind, to respect the station’s history and protect the environment that surrounds it. The camp offers eleven private safari-style canvas tents with individual balconies overlooking the water’s edge, and each stay at Kinrara is hosted by the O’Brien family, custodians of the land for four generations in collaboration with the Gugu Badhun Indigenous people.

Daintree Ecolodge

Daintree Ecolodge is folded into ancient rainforest, nestled upon the southern banks of the Daintree River. This sustainable and uplifting destination offers eco-friendly bayans (treehouses) looking over a rainforest canopy of Bull Kauri trees, and a lagoon strewn with lily pads. The lodge boasts a private waterfall and swimming hole, while modern facilities include a bar, restaurant, and dining area overlooking the lagoon where you’ll enjoy delicious meals created with locally grown produce. A multitude of stunning, quiet areas immersed in lush tropical rainforest make this destination the perfect place to unwind in sustainable and uplifting comfort. Daintree Ecolodge is ideally situated between two of nature’s finest displays, where lush tropical rainforest meets white sand beaches and fringing coral reefs, making it the perfect place to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.
