JHA on Hutton Vale Farm is a little patch of Barossa Valley history. Experience the extraordinary level of quality and passion that Barossan artisan producers have for their craft and relax into the quiet rhythms of life on the farm.
A working farming property in the north eastern region of the Barossa Valley, Hutton Vale Farm is framed by picturesque Australian countryside, with large rolling hills, roads lined with towering gum trees and row upon row of fruitful vineyards. Having been in the Angas family for over seven generations now, Hutton Vale Farm holds a deep history within the region. It was family founder, John Howard Angas in 1843 who took up the land and named it Hutton Vale Farm. Current landowners, John and Jan Angas have opened up this beautiful property, to be shared with discerning travellers from all walks of life.
The Barossa is the wine capital of Australia, home to world-famous producers including Wolf Blass, Grant Burge and Peter Lehmann. Today, it is home to over 100 wineries, with more than 60 of these hosting cellar doors.
But the Barossa (and nearby Eden Valley) is not only rich in world-beating Shiraz and Riesling – it is also rich with artisan food production combining to produce an unsurpassed breadth and depth of culinary and viticulture experience. Flavours of the seasonal produce along with traditional meats and bread abound at the local Farmer’s Market, specialist providores and on the tables of the Barossa.
Over 150 years of German settlement have left the region’s picturesque towns and villages with distinct stories and histories. Visitors will find them intimate, welcoming and rewarding.
Perfect grape-growing weather often means perfect weather for outdoor activities; diversions include hot air ballooning, golf, cycling, hiking, and wine-touring in everything from a stretch limo to helicopter to a trike to 1962 ex-royal Daimler!
With the Paddock to Plate, follow the journey of the production of food and wine and experience the rhythms of country life first hand. Indulge in the magnificent flavours of the Barossa produce, from food grown on Hutton Vale Farm or sourced from local artisan makers. There is no better way to enjoy authentic Barossa generosity, with the warmth of a fire, or the sun, under the vines at Hutton Vale Farm.
Experience the ‘Iconic Barossa’ with a journey into the real, authentic Barossa Valley wine region. The day would be remiss without tasting your birth year vintage of Tawny direct from the barrel. This unique experience is a lasting legacy from the early Seppelt family founders, ensuring each vintage remains untouched for 100 years. Go behind the scenes to enjoy a range of exclusive seasonal offerings directly from the barrel at Torbreck vineyard. Torbreck is committed to creating exceptional Rhone style red and white wines, reflecting the very best vineyards in the Barossa. Enjoy time out in the vineyard with the winemaker or viticulturist to understand the process from vine to glass plus the soils and viticulture of the Barossa.
