The Tailor Process

Step One

Review Our website

We recommend taking the time to review our website, in particular, “Destinations“, “Experiences” and “Journeys“. This will be a great starting point for you to begin thinking about the style of trip that you are looking for.

Step Two

Contact The Tailor

You have the choice to either make contact by phone +61 8 8354 4405 or email [email protected] and speak with an expert Travel Designer from The Tailor, or fill in our Enquiry form.

From experience, we find that direct contact via the phone helps us gather information on your past travel journeys, the style of travel you prefer and the experiences you are looking for. We encourage all our clients to feel comfortable in chatting with one of our knowledgeable travel designers direct and form a close working relationship from the start of your journey to the finish.

At this point we require a small commitment deposit to proceed with your enquiry. This commitment deposit is fully deducted off the cost of your trip, it is not in addition to the trip arrangement costs.

Step Three

The Design Phase

Once we have received your commitment deposit, your expert Travel Designer will begin considering your specific requirements for your journey based on the information you advise, including your travel dates, the number of people in your travel party, special interests and style of travel.

From here they will begin creating a journey especially tailored for you! We arrange all components of your tailor made holidays such as accommodation, touring, meals and travel.

Step Four

Hand-Crafted Journey

You will receive a copy of your proposed hand crafted journey in a full-colour itinerary format. Please take the time to read through your itinerary. We are more than happy to answer any questions or comments you may have about your holiday. If your itinerary requires some refining we are happy to do this also.

Step Five

Confirming Arrangements

In order to confirm your Australian travel arrangements, we will send you an invoice for 25% deposit payment of the total trip cost (unless advised otherwise). Once we have received deposit payment we will secure all arrangements for your journey.

Step Six

Final Payment

The balance of your trip payment is required 90 days prior to travel (unless advised otherwise).

Approximately 30 days before you travel we will send you a copy of your final itinerary and contact details that you can leave with your family and friends. We will also advise you of our 24-hour emergency contact phone number that you can utilise while in the country if need be.

Step Seven

On Holiday

On arrival at your first destination, all your required travel documentation for your trip will be waiting for you. Your Travel Designer will contact you on arrival and periodically throughout your trip to ensure all is running seamlessly.

Step Eight

Feedback

Upon completion of your journey, your Travel Designer will send you a feedback form for you to complete. We value your feedback seriously and use the information you provide to continue a high level of excellence and service.

Our Awards and Recognition

Don’t just take our word for it

As pioneers in Australian five-star luxury and experiential travel, we have the accolades to prove our expertise. The Tailor and our Founder and Managing Director, Drew Kluska, have been recognised with prestigious awards, showcasing our dedication to crafting exceptional journeys across Australia.

The Tailor uses an eight-step process: (1) review the website (Destinations, Experiences, Journeys) to get a feel for the trip you want; (2) contact The Tailor by phone, email or enquiry form and pay a small commitment deposit, which is later deducted from the trip cost; (3) your Travel Designer works through your travel dates, party size and interests in a design phase; (4) you receive a full-colour hand-crafted itinerary to review and refine; (5) a 25% deposit confirms and secures all arrangements; (6) the balance is due 90 days before travel, after which a final itinerary and a 24-hour emergency contact number are issued around 30 days out; (7) your Travel Designer stays in contact during the trip itself; and (8) a feedback form is sent after you return.

The Tailor is built around exactly this: a single dedicated Travel Designer manages the entire multi-region itinerary from first enquiry through to a 24-hour emergency contact during travel, rather than a client juggling separate bookings. The team regularly designs trips spanning multiple states and remote regions in one seamless itinerary: examples include a 28-day journey combining Sydney, Kangaroo Island, the Red Centre, the Top End, a private yacht charter along the Kimberley coastline, and the Great Barrier Reef, and a month-long private-aircraft itinerary linking eight remote Australian destinations.

It starts with a conversation before anything is booked. Your Travel Designer works through dates, party size, interests and family situation, then designs the full three weeks as one itinerary: several regions, charter flights or drives between them, exclusive use properties where the group can stay together, and a private guide in each region. A small commitment deposit opens the design phase and is deducted from the trip cost, a 25 per cent deposit confirms every booking, the balance falls due 90 days before travel, and final documents with a 24 hour emergency contact arrive about 30 days out.
