Summer December - February

Summer (December to February) is beautiful in the Freycinet and East Coast region, with temperatures averaging between 20.3 – 22.2°C (68.5 – 71.9°F).
Winter June - August

Winter is significantly cooler, with the average daily temperature ranging between 12.2 – 13.3° C (53.9 – 55.9°F).
Spring and Autumn September - November, March - May

In spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May), the days are typically mild and are perfect for adventuring. The usual daily temperature sits between 15 – 20.6°C (59 69.1°F).

What do our experts say about Freycinet & East Coast?

Freycinet is one of my favourite destinations. I love stopping at Devil’s Corner on the drive up from Hobart for stunning views, excellent cool climate wines and a steaming pot of mussels. Melshel Oysters doesn’t look like much but it’s a great place to finish of that Devils Corner wine (they allow BYO) and sample a few (dozen) freshly shucked oysters. Bring your bathers and hiking shoes, the beaches and trails around here are spectacular.
