Australia’s leading courses in one journey
Royal Melbourne and Kingston Heath sit within easy reach of Melbourne, and New South Wales Golf Club plays across a headland above Botany Bay. Cape Wickham on King Island and Barnbougle in Tasmania follow the Bass Strait coastline, shaped by wind and dunes. Each course plays differently, which is what makes a golf journey across Australia so rewarding.

Reasons to book with The Tailor
The Cliffs, a Darius Oliver course at Pelican Lagoon, is South Australia’s newest destination golf course. Begin with a stay at Saffire Freycinet and rounds at Barnbougle, then fly privately to Kangaroo Island to play The Cliffs and stay at Southern Ocean Lodge. Kangaroo Island is home ground for us: The Tailor is based in South Australia and has been creating journeys there for close to 30 years.
Our Travel Designers know their tees from their bunkers. They request tee times at leading public and private clubs, plan transfers around rounds and tournament sessions, and shape separate days for travelling companions who prefer wildlife, wine or culture. Our relationships can also open doors to exclusive clubs such as Ellerston Golf Club in the Upper Hunter Valley, subject to the club’s approval.
Time a journey around the Australian Open in late November or early December, the BMW Australian PGA Championship, LIV Golf Adelaide, or the Presidents Cup when it comes to Australia. Golf access and hospitality during major events are limited, so early planning matters. See the events in our golf guide.

Don’t just take our word for it
As pioneers in Australian five-star luxury and experiential travel, we have the accolades to prove our expertise. The Tailor and our Founder and Managing Director, Drew Kluska, have been recognised with prestigious awards, showcasing our dedication to crafting exceptional journeys across Australia.
Royal Melbourne is a private club, so visitor access is limited and subject to club approval, member requirements and availability. The Tailor can request a tee time as part of a wider itinerary, and planning well in advance gives the best chance.
The Australian Open is usually played in late November or early December. The venue rotates between leading courses, with Melbourne's Sandbelt a frequent host, so The Tailor plans each journey around the confirmed dates.
The Cliffs is an 18 hole course designed by Darius Oliver at Pelican Lagoon on Kangaroo Island, and South Australia's newest destination golf course. Several holes run beside the cliffs above the Southern Ocean.
Kangaroo Island is a short flight from Adelaide or a ferry crossing from Cape Jervis, and private aircraft can fly in from Melbourne or from Barnbougle in Tasmania. The Tailor can pair a round at The Cliffs with a stay at Southern Ocean Lodge.
Cape Wickham and Ocean Dunes on King Island and the Barnbougle courses in Tasmania all take public bookings, which makes them easier to plan around. Melbourne's Sandbelt clubs and New South Wales Golf Club are private, with access subject to club approval.
Ellerston Golf Club in the Upper Hunter Valley is one of Australia's most private clubs. Access is never guaranteed, but our relationships allow us to request it as part of a dedicated golf journey.
Yes. Travelling companions can follow their own program of wildlife, food, wine and cultural experiences while others play, with everyone coming together for meals and the days in between.
