Seasons in Cradle Mountain

Much like the rest of Australia, Tasmania receives four distinctive seasons of weather throughout the year.

Summer December - February

Summer (December to February) is a great time to visit, with temperatures averaging from 16 – 18°C (61 – 64°F).
Winter June - August

Winter (June to August) is when the colder Tasmania weather really sets in and average temperatures drop to 6°C (43°F).
Spring and Autumn September - November, March - May

Spring (September to November) and Autumn (March to May) are beautiful times to visit, with the mild temperatures and vibrant landscapes creating a very scenic experience. Average temperatures during these seasons range between 8 – 15°C (46 – 59°F).

City or Wilderness? Why and where?

Personally, I choose Wilderness. I live just over an hour from Melbourne and am surrounded by towering forests with challenging hiking trails and pristine waterways, and abundance of native wildlife and that never ceases to amaze and entertain. Australia, being one of the world’s least populated continents, offers a profound sense of freedom and endless opportunities for exploration once you leave the cities.
