Makepeace is your private island sanctuary within minutes of Noosa or 20 minutes’ drive from Sunshine Coast Airport. It combines modern contemporary living with traditional tropical island design, creating a tranquil environment that is in complete harmony with nature.

The Australian home is owned (and used) by Sir Richard Branson and Brett Godfrey, it has been created to accommodate up to 22 castaways in luxurious seclusion, with all the attractions of the Sunshine Coast just a short boat-ride away.

After alighting at the heart-shaped island’s private dock, you’ll be shown to your villa (one of only three), Island house or The Boathouse.

The island’s 25 acres are mostly bushland, the perfect place to stroll and discover many species of birdlife, or perhaps take out the island “tinnie” and try a spot of river fishing. You’ll also find plenty of resort attractions/equipment including: tennis, kayaks, cooking classes, paddle boards, outdoor cinema and media room.

Noosa’s famous beaches, restaurants, surf school and fishing grounds are just a few minutes upstream. The Great Barrier Reef is less than an hour away by charter flight.

All the Makepeace buildings were designed and constructed in Bali before being shipped to Australia. The furnishings, sculptures, antiques and lighting are bespoke pieces acquired throughout Indonesia.

With plentiful wildlife, breath-taking beaches and abundant sun, the Sunshine Coast is an incredible holiday-destination for all travellers. The region is known for its glorious, golden beaches and contrasting lush green hinterlands. Whilst the coastal activities are enough for most visitors (fishing and surfing), there is also plenty to be discovered in the surrounding townships.

Accommodation Options and Facilities

The Island comprises a total of 11 bedrooms and each room and villa has been designed for privacy, comfort and relaxation.

Private Villas: Makepeace Island features 3 luxurious villas offering seclusion and privacy to guests – linked to the main entertaining areas by wooden boardwalks. The villa’s master bedroom opens to a large outdoor deck with breathtaking garden or water views. Each features a spacious bathroom, with a stunning carved volcanic boulder bath, a second twin / king bedroom and a large dressing room. The spectacular entry foyer of each villa features a waterfall and fishpond.

The Bali House: The Island House is a 4-bedroomed wing attached to the main entertaining area. Each room features hand carved Balinese furnishing, ensuite and private deck providing a relaxed, barefoot luxury feel. Bedrooms can be either king or twin beds.

The Boat House: The Boathouse is positioned right on the river with uninterrupted views of the Northshore. This gorgeous first floor bedroom with ensuite has a waterfront balcony to enjoy stunning sunrise and sunsets over the water in your own private world.
