Housed in an intricately restored heritage-listed building that was initially developed in the early 1930’s, this beautiful hotel balances storied architectural features with a light-palleted contemporary design aesthetic. Capella Sydney has been designed to indulge guests with luxurious accommodation, world-class cuisine, and cultural immersion.
Featuring 192 beautifully guestrooms and suites that are set across nine levels, with the Capella Suite measuring the largest room in the portfolio at 235-square-metres. Layered in history, and proudly showcasing elegant design and well-appointed amenities, the Capella Sydney exudes luxury.
Among Capella Sydney’s highlights is their grandiose wellness centre. Included within the space is an informal art gallery, a 20-metre heated indoor swimming pool, a high-tech fitness centre featuring Technogym equipment, a yoga platform and well-appointed changerooms complete with steam, sauna, and experiential showers. The wellness experience also includes the Auriga Spa, which showcases treatment rooms for couples and individuals.
The Living Room is a dedicated space for guests to immerse themselves in cultural connection. Surrounded by art, intriguing artefacts, this is where guests become introduced to Capella Culturists who are on-hand to create an unforgettable journey through an outstanding concierge experience.
Capella Sydney also boasts an incredible restaurant and bar for guests to enjoy. Guests can indulge in contemporary Australian cuisine at Brasserie 1930 or unwind with a curated cocktail at McRae Bar, named after the building’s original architect.
Sydney
Capella Sydney occupies an entire block in the heart of Sydney’s historical financial district. Within walking distance to Circular Quay, its prime central location allows for excellent access to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House. While the Art Gallery of New South Wales and Botanical Gardens are only several blocks away from the hotel with the city’s dynamic food scene, renowned shopping precincts and iconic beaches found within and around the city.
Vehicle transfers from Sydney Airport take approximately 30 minutes.
Sydney is the capital of New South Wales and is located on the southeast coast on the eponymous Sydney Harbour. It is served by Sydney Airport which is approximately 30mins drive to the main central business district. Most international flights arrive in Sydney.
Sydney offers temperate weather which makes it perfect for visiting all year around. Sydney’s busiest seasons are between December to February during the peak of summer, but offers a diverse range of activities throughout the year.
Accommodation Options and Facilities
Starting from 485 square feet (45 square metres), the Capella Sydney offers the Deluxe, Premier, Tower and Skyline rooms. Featuring abundant natural light and space, each of the rooms showcase curated artworks, contemporary, neutral-toned furnishings and luxurious linen, bedding, and amenities.
The Deluxe and Skyline suites are generously sized at 829-1023 square feet (77-95-square metres) and are as generously appointed as the guestrooms. Doused in a warm natural light and soft toned palette, the suites include a separate living area and bedroom, custom furnishings and curated artwork. Double vanities are featured within the elegant bathrooms and dual head rain showers and standalone deep soaking bathtubs complete the experience.
The jewels in Capella Sydney’s crown are its four Prestige suites, which range from 1130-2530 square feet (105-235 square metres). Exquisite interior designs and a large spacious layout make for an indulgent guest experience. The separate living and bedroom area, the oversized bathrooms and the personal bar of locally sourced products is perfection at its finest.

On Capella Sydney’s ground floor, a collection of modern food and beverage offerings invite guests to taste a selection of premium local fare. Their signature restaurant champions small-batch farmers and growers, and the menu celebrates the best Australian produce and age-old cooking techniques – curing, smoking, fermenting, and preserving. The hotel’s main bar is a modern interpretation of a Victorian era drinking den, providing an elegant cocktail experience, while the impressive courtyard lounge offers dining and refreshments from sunrise to sunset.
