Silky Oaks Lodge

Overview

Main Information

Found within the heart of the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest alongside the Mossman River, Silky Oaks Lodge delivers a five-star luxury lodge experience in Tropical North Queensland.

This premium escape is perfectly positioned between Tropical North Queensland’s natural attractions of the primordial Daintree Rainforest and the sparkling Great Barrier Reef. Only an hour from Cairns and a 20-minute drive from Port Douglas, Silky Oaks Lodge offers a secluded escape into one of Australia’s most magnificent landscapes.

Forty luxury treehouse-style suites are on offer, overlooking the Mossman River or lush rainforest. Each suite is styled with contemporary furnishings and is constructed with local timbers to evoke a true sense of place and soften the boundary between the in- and outdoors.

The central hub of Silky Oaks Lodge offers multiple tiered areas to enjoy the sights and sounds of the rainforest and river, with most areas opening out into the elements including the on-site Treehouse Restaurant and Jungle Bar. While serving as a perfect base into exploring the region, Silky Oaks also offers plenty of on-site leisure. The Kubirri Lounge offers a comfortable space to relax, read, and play boardgames, while the Marrdja Pavilion offers an airy space for events. Also included are the Healing Waters Spa, fully-equipped gym, kitchen garden and nearby riverbank to discover.

Location

Daintree Rainforest

  • Port Douglas is a beautiful resort town located at the end of a peninsula, resulting in tranquil surrounding waters and beautiful lush rainforest. With plenty of five-star restaurants, art galleries and designer boutiques, Port Douglas is one of Australia’s most fashion-forward resort-towns. The area surrounding Port Douglas is just as beautiful, with the Daintree National Park located within such a close proximity. The Daintree Rainforest is among one of Australia’s most iconic natural phenomena, and is the only location in the world in which the rainforest meets the sea.

The weather in Port Douglas is a lovely mix of refreshing, mild winters (Dry Season) and balmy, sunny summers (Wet Season).

Dining

Dining

An all-inclusive dining experience is on offer at Silky, showcasing the tropical fare that the region is known for.

Serviced by a thriving kitchen garden for ultra-fresh plant-to-plate produce, the Treehouse Restaurant is the main dining area for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Set amongst the cool backdrop of the forest, this location serves flavours to tempt your palate, ranging from exotic coconut and pawpaw, barramundi and kingfish, tiger prawns followed by tropical sorbets, and more. Accompanied by freshly squeezed juices, locally grown coffee, and refreshing yet sophisticated alcoholic options, the Treehouse Restaurant tells a story of the region. For an intimate drink experience, venture to the open-air Jungle Perch which extends into the rainforest canopy to float over the river below.

For a more casual drinking experience, unwind at the Silky Bar and discover their range of premium Australian wines and local beers, or delight with a menu of locally produced, small-batch spirits.
