Spicers Peak Lodge

Overview

Main Information

Spicers Peak Lodge is a luxurious mountain retreat located two hours south-west of Brisbane. At 1100m it’s Queensland’s highest accommodation, enjoying views of the World Heritage-listed Main Range National Park, one of Australia’s most scenic wilderness areas.

The lodge is an architectural showcase best described as contemporary and classic. It’s also exclusive, featuring only 10 private suites and 2 private lodges.

Taking inspiration from its pristine high country setting, Spicer’s Peak Lodge has been created to echo the natural environment, with a warm, muted interior palette of charcoal, chocolate and caramel, blending perfectly with the materials used in the construction, chiefly stone, timber, tin and glass.

The surroundings are spectacular, providing opportunities for active pursuits as well as a soothing tableau against which to relax, refresh and reinvigorate. Those inclined to activity are well catered for and sightseeing is always an option in the Scenic Rim location. The nearby Granite Belt region is the wine capital of Queensland and a tasting tour is not to be missed.

The intimate nature of the retreat and the freshness of the surroundings flows through to the Lodge’s world-class Restaurant as well as Spa Anise, renowned for its powerful massage sequences and beauty treatments.

Hinterland

  • Located 2 hours south of Brisbane lies the wide skies of the Southern Downs Hinterlands. This largely untouched wilderness is located just 2 hours from Brisbane and provides excellent opportunities for travellers to enjoy and explore a different Queensland perspective.

The Queensland Hinterlands experiences warm and wet summers, and dry mild winters, much like the rest of the state.

Accommodation Options and Facilities

With only 10 private suites and 2 private lodges, Spicers Peak Lodge Scenic Rim offers an intimate and relaxing experience in one of South East Queensland’s most beautiful wilderness areas. While the retreat is committed to 100 per cent relaxation, it also features a tennis court, walking trials and mountain bike tracks for the more adventurous, plus a spectacular infinity edge swimming pool and library with billiard table.

Be sure to say hello to the Brangus – the herd of Highland Cattle that also calls Spicers Peak Lodge home. The Spa Anise day spa has a full menu of treatments; and the staff will be delighted to arrange private tours of the region. (Costs apply.)

Dining

Dining

Spicers Peak Lodge guests experience a beautifully balanced blend of many different cuisines as part of their stay.

Dining at Spicers Peak Lodge Restaurant appeals to all five senses with absolutely beautiful surrounds, the cosy ambience of a log fire, the smell of something delightful being prepared in the kitchen and some moody jazz… not to mention a culinary taste sensation.

The wine list at Spicers Peak Lodge Restaurant matches the calibre of the cuisine. Both are strongly influenced by the Scenic Rim and Granite Belt regions with chef and sommelier working together to create perfect matches. The seven-course degustation menu is evidence of this harmony.
