Spicers Peak Lodge is a luxurious mountain retreat located two hours south-west of Brisbane. At 1100m it’s Queensland’s highest accommodation, enjoying views of the World Heritage-listed Main Range National Park, one of Australia’s most scenic wilderness areas.
The lodge is an architectural showcase best described as contemporary and classic. It’s also exclusive, featuring only 10 private suites.
Taking inspiration from its pristine high country setting, Spicer’s Peak Lodge has been created to echo the natural environment, with a warm, muted interior palette of charcoal, chocolate and caramel, blending perfectly with the materials used in the construction, chiefly stone, timber, tin and glass.
The surroundings are spectacular, providing opportunities for active pursuits as well as a soothing tableau against which to relax, refresh and reinvigorate. Those inclined to activity are well catered for and sightseeing is always an option in the Scenic Rim location. The nearby Granite Belt region is the wine capital of Queensland and a tasting tour is not to be missed.
The intimate nature of the retreat and the freshness of the surroundings flows through to the Lodge’s world-class Restaurant as well as Spa Anise, renowned for its powerful massage sequences and beauty treatments.
Whether it’s the remoteness of this mountain-top hideaway, the ski-lodge feel or the downright divine guestrooms, there’s an overwhelming sense of specialness about this place. – Sydney Morning Herald (Australia)
Brisbane is the capital of Queensland – a city of sunny skies, river views and optimism. Its 1 million residents enjoy their food, their wine and their outdoor lifestyle (this is a city that’s literally criss-crossed with running tracks!) And they’re not afraid to try new things, revitalising their riverside CBD and getting behind the amazing South Bank development with its bars, cafes, galleries and manmade beach. Brisbane is now one of Australia’s most liveable cities and readily shows its visitors a good time.
The capital is 40 minutes from the Gold Coast, a beachside playground offering glitz, glamour and the country’s largest concentration of theme parks.
Two hours’ drive south of Brisbane and you’re under the wide skies of the Southern Downs, high country where people know that the good things of life aren’t meant to be rushed. At Warwick, the ‘Rose and Rodeo City’, magnificent sandstone buildings stand as monuments to its pioneer past. To the north, Allora and Clifton are similarly rich in pioneering history. To the south lies the Granite Belt and Stanthorpe, surrounded by orchards, vineyards and over 40 wineries.
