After being picked up from your accommodation, your first stop is to Ben Lomond National Park. This National Park’s namesake is a spectacular mountain of dolerite columns and scree slopes, while the National Park itself is home to eight of the twenty highest peaks in Tasmania, as well as being the highest drivable point in Tasmania upon the twisting road known as Jacob’s Ladder.

This park plays an invaluable role in regional wildlife conservation, and awesome views and a magnificent array of alpine vegetation are on offer. Your guide will lead you through this region revealing their local knowledge along the way.

Following your adventures through Ben Lomond, you’ll enjoy a gourmet campfire dinner followed by a wonderful after-dark wildlife show focusing on the antics of the eastern quoll in its natural habitat.

With forester kangaroos as your dinner companions, settle in for dinner—a three-course campfire affair consisting of a Tasmanian cheese platter and smoked meats, followed by a main course showcasing native flavours. Expect flavours like Bush Pattie Gumbo or Native Spice Salmon with accompanying salads, with a dessert to finish. After this, settle back and relax with a Tassie beer or wine in hand, and watch the sun set to experience one of nature’s best after-dark shows.

Be amazed by a nocturnal encounter with some of Tasmania’s unique and endearing wildlife species as they emerge at dusk. Forester kangaroos, eastern quolls, Tasmanian pademelons and brush-tail possums gather to feed near the campfire, while Bennett’s wallabies and wombats graze close by. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled, as owls, bandicoots, tawny frogmouths and platypuses may also make appearances over this charming encounter.
