Barossa Valley

The wine capital of Australia

South Australia’s iconic, world-renowned food and wine utopia

The Barossa Valley is the wine capital of Australia and one of South Australia’s most highly regarded destinations. The image of the Barossa is depicted by rolling hills, picturesque villages clustered together and rows of vineyards framing an outback farming landscape.

Located only an hour’s drive North from Adelaide, this region is one of Australia’s greatest wine growing areas, with over 150 wineries and cellar doors.

The inherent history and culture of the region is an undercurrent influencing what is produced in the Barossa today. Seven generations of grape growers and artisan producers have worked to establish this land to produce outstanding food and wine.

What do I love about working at The Tailor?

The whole process of planning a client’s Australia holiday is always such a fun challenge and an opportunity to get creative. It’s an amazing feeling when your clients are finally traveling all over the country, experiencing all the beautiful and unique destinations Australia has to offer, knowing they will make memories of a lifetime. I also love being surrounded by a bunch of creative and passionate people and our team is just that! There is so much knowledge in our office and we are constantly learning from one another.

A destination on my bucket list… Why?

The beautiful Lord Howe Island, located in the Tasman Sea and off the New South Wales Coast. This World Heritage listed Island is the perfect destination for nature lovers like myself. With its lush rainforest with rare and endemic flora and fauna, pristine beaches and sea life there is just so much to explore. When I travel, I enjoy a good balance between relaxing and reading my book and being out and about hiking, snorkelling, sailing, kayaking or surfing. Lorde Howe Island would certainly tick all these boxes.
